INTERNSHIP @ YAMUNA FORZANI
In the fourth year of AMFI, I started my internship at Yamuna Forzani, a queer knitwear designer. The main reason for doing my internship there was because I wanted to work in an inclusive space where I would have the opportunity to develop myself in design and in the digital realm.
Yamuna Forzani is more of an artist than a fashion designer. With her own signature she creates experimental knitwear into garments but also into art pieces. From creating collections, fashion shows, experiences and garments for people from the ballroom scene, to creating art pieces from knitwear fabrics. In her work she gives back to the LGBTQIA+ community through working for and together with them.
My role in the company was ‘(Digital) designer and creative assistant’ which was a really fluid role. I got the chance to explore my design side through helping her with her collection and fashion show. At the end of the internship I had the time to dive into the digital realm more by myself. I created Instagram filters and reels for Yamuna’s IG and digital bucket hats to use for images.
